Natural Looking Liquid Foundation Hacks

You currently use or have previously used liquid foundation. Unfortunately it always looks thick, cakey, and fake. The fix to this problem is surprisingly simple.

In this article I will share with you the four ways to make your foundation look less cakey and fake.

Enough fluff, let’s get started.

1. The brush-sponge hack

Normally you would apply for foundation with either a brush or a sponge. What I’m suggesting will hardy take any extra time. I promise you this is dramatically change the way your foundation looks.

Step 1: Put a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand. You want to work with small amounts for thin and natural looking coverage. You can always go back and add more.

Step 2: Work quickly. Use a fluffy makeup brush like the one featured above. Pick up small amounts of foundation and pat it onto the skin. Do not swipe, only pat or press.

Applying to much foundation can result in a cakey and fake look.

Step 3: Still working quickly, use a wet sponge. You can use a craft sponge from the dollar store or a beauty blender. Lightly press over the the foundation to reveal a smoother finish. Don’t press to hard or you will recover to much foundation.

Step 4: Use a lose powder to lightly set. I recommend using a fluffy brush and shaking off all the extra powder.

2. Moisturizer application

Always apply moisturizer before applying your foundation for a smoother finish.

I recommend waiting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to allow your moisturizer to soak into the skin.

3. Exfoliation

Exfoliation means removing dead skin. There are a couple different ways to do this.

Chemical: Chemical exfoliators are products that contain ingredients which exfoliate your skin. This may include washes, lotions and even treatments from your dermatologist or other specialist.

Mechanical: Mechanical exfoliation is physically removing dead skin. This may include washcloths, scrubbing brushes, products with granulated substances.

Warning: People with sensitive or dry skin should only use mild exfoliators. Using harsh exfoliators could cause your skin to react negatively.

4. Still hate liquid foundations?

For some people, liquid foundation will never agree with their skin.

I recommend trying RCMA foundation. (I am not affiliated with RCMA) This can be purchased online. Just do a quick google search.

RCMA foundations are cream instead of liquid. They provide an unbelievably natural finish.

A quick YouTube search for “RCMA” will teach you how to apply this foundation.

I also recommend this foundation for anyone who suffers with acne. The coverage is outstanding and it doesn’t clog your pores like other foundations.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article. I hope it helps you achieve flawless foundation.
